Our mission at Deep Blue Discoveries is: "to inspire children to explore our coral reefs, and through their increased understanding of this vital resource, to protect and care for them throughout their lives."

The Deep Blue Discoveries "Build A Coral Reef" pool program grew from my love of exploring coral reefs and my desire to encourage children to explore these unique and dynamic environments.

As a child, I spent my summers on Cape Cod. On my way to the beach, I would pass a cove and one day I grabbed a mask and snorkel and dove in. I've been experiencing the mysteries and marvels of the sea ever since—an exploration over time that has led me through the waters of New England and over coral reefs in the Caribbean. My love for the ocean led me to be certified as an open water diver. After working as a dive volunteer and volunteer marine educator at The New England Aquarium, I wanted to share my love for coral reefs with children, and thus, I created Deep Blue Discoveries.
